Nvidia introduces cloud services for customizing artificial intelligence models

Unleashing the Power of Custom AI: NVIDIA's AI Foundations Empowers Businesses to Create Their Own Chatbots, Imagery, and More!

NVIDIA makes big announcements around a dedicated AI cloud service

NVIDIA has introduced its latest cloud services offering called AI Foundations, which enables businesses to build custom large language models and generative AI models using their proprietary data. This move comes amidst the increasing popularity of enterprise AI, with major tech players like Google, Microsoft, Meta, and Baidu competing for dominance in the market by incorporating generative AI features into their products.

The AI Foundations platform includes NeMo, NVIDIA's language models, BioNemo, a specialized version for drug and molecule discovery in the medical research community, and Picasso, an AI capable of generating images, videos, and 3D applications to boost creativity and digital simulation. These models can be trained with billions of parameters, significantly exceeding the capabilities of previous models like GPT-3.5.

Unlike some AI models that use data from the internet, NVIDIA's AIs are designed as blank templates, allowing companies to tailor the models to their specific needs using their own proprietary data. This customizability opens up possibilities for companies in various industries, from pharmaceutical research to creative content generation.

One notable collaboration is with Getty Images, where NVIDIA has developed responsibly sourced text-to-image and text-to-video models trained on Getty's fully licensed assets. Getty Images will provide royalties to artists based on revenues generated from these models.

NVIDIA's BioNeMo focuses on accelerating biologics discovery, enabling researchers to fine-tune generative AI applications using their own proprietary data. This partnership has proven beneficial for companies like Amgen, reducing the time to train custom models for molecule screening and optimization significantly.

Moreover, NVIDIA has partnered with Shutterstock and Adobe to leverage Picasso's capabilities. The collaboration with Shutterstock aims to power the next generation of 3D contributor tools, making the creation of textured and structured 3D models faster and more efficient. Meanwhile, the collaboration with Adobe seeks to enhance transparency and accountability in the generative AI training process by incorporating many of Picasso's features directly into Adobe's editing software suite.

With AI Foundations, NVIDIA aims to empower companies lacking the time and resources to develop AI models from scratch to leverage the power of generative AI for their specific use cases, thus contributing to the rapid growth of enterprise AI adoption.
